Southern Sound Update

Well I’m back again with the update as promised.  The Kyle Park concert at Cheatham Street Warehouse was absolutely amazing. Ill definitely go as far to say the he rocked the roof off the place. It was a sold out show which was no surprise at all, givin the buzz goin on around town prior to the show.  I know I promised videos and some pictures but due to a certain Texas State student this was not possible. Now y’all know I love my school but I cant say the same for everyone in it. Long story short due to his selfishness and willingness to shove, I was unable to get around him to get a good worthwhile shot. I guess being polite still wont get you anywhere these days but it is what it right.

In other news I’m am seriously looking forward to the release of the new Randy Rogers Band album “BuRNiNg the DaY”, which set to release sometime towards the beginning the summer. There are definitely going to be a lot of changes to the album and the live shows from here on out. For starters Randy announced on Twitter that he is retiring his Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar.  I personally cant remember him ever playing anything different.

His new guitar that he will be playing will be what appears to be a solid body 1950′s Fender Telecaster. This is the picture he  put on Twitter.

Another change to the new album is going to be the producer. Former Warner Bros. Records Nashville division chief, creative officer, and guitarist Paul Worley headed up the new album and was completely recorded in Nashville Tennessee.  Now for those that know me I am probably the biggest Nashville hater alive because of artists like Toby Keith, Trace Adkins and guys like that. However, Paul has written and worked with one of  the greatest singer songwriters Radney Foster who as also co-written with Randy Rogers on some of their early stuff. From what I have heard and read, they have already been playing many of the songs prior to recording unlike the last album which should give it a more meaningful vibe then what you get when you sit down and just write and record the whole album in the studio. So this should be an album you might want to check out. Until next time my friends!
